Pura Vida Pt. 2: More Visuals from CR

So here we are in June with July fast approaching and, by the looks of things, I'm failing miserably at keeping up with regular posting (wow, a month has whizzed by since the last one). Kinda sucks because there's actually a fair bit I would love to share with all yawl out there. Part of it is a lack of photos (sorta my fault and sorta waiting for pics from others), a lack of time (I do have free time but I'm trying to get a job here) and also a slight lack of motivation (I need to get away from the compy once in a while to stay sane). Anyways, here are some videos from that splendid trip to Costa Rica I took almost 2 months back. Now you guys can really SEE some of the things that happened over there. Enjoy!

First up, a vid of us at the rental car place picking up our Daihatsu Terios-es. Rene & Gordon are inside blasting some music and Ashley is outside grooving along.

Duration: 8 sec
The next vid we have here is of Priyanshu heading down a waterslide at the Baldi Hot Springs. That's followed by one of me going down another waterslide at Baldi. Both vids end a bit prematurely as impact caused the camera to stop filming.

Duration: 3 sec

Duration: 6 sec
We did a short hike near Volcan Arenal to see one of the lava flows (the '92 one I believe) and here's a quick 360 degree view of the area around. You'll see Volcan Arenal, the flow area, Laguna de Arenal and the beautiful surroundings.

Duration: 12 sec
Next up, we have one of the many jumping howler monkeys that Ryan & I saw near the Heliconias Ecolodge. It was quite a sight to see and, if you listen carefully, you can hear our hushed voices providing some commentary.

Duration: 12 sec
So there's a pic of me climbing a coconut tree if you recall. Here's the vid that shows me going up there and taking a machete to a "lovely bunch of coconuts" (bonus points for whoever can name that reference). Hawaii represent! Heh. I added a bit of music (Hui Hui by The Tornadoes ft. Tyra Hammond) to liven things a bit.

The next set of videos are of our late night off-roading adventures in the Terios. First up, a vid of a relatively tame stream crossing and some color commentary by Vivi & I. This video ends because we have come up to the subject of the following video...

Duration: 1 min 22 sec
This crazy, two-plank bridge. It was pretty scary driving over it being guided primarily by vocal commands. Here I am going across the bridge as Priyanshu helps me along.

Duration: 54 sec
If that crazy bridge crossing in the middle of the night wasn't enough, what followed immediately after was a muddy hill that took numerous attempts to summit. Here's the vid of our successful attempt. Don't mind Alisa, Vivi & I sounding like excited fools in the background.

Duration: 12 sec
We had better luck the next day (thanks to the sun) in terms of getting to where we wanted to go, but it was pretty fun driving around aimlessly anyhow. Here's a vid of Priyanshu crossing one of the streams the next day. If it's hard to understand my commentary, I noticed steam caused by water hitting some hot part of the car engine. You can't really see it here online, but it's most noticeable halfway in the vid coming out of the front right wheel well.

On the boat ride that we took from Drake Bay to Corcovado National Park, we saw a pod of dolphins. Here's the proof.

Duration: 9 sec

And that's pretty much it for the videos. The last bit of the trip didn't have much video worthy material so you'll have to be content with all of the above. Hope you enjoy it and I'll hopefully get back to posting some stuff again. Take care folks!
