More of Summer '06

Hello again faithful blog visitors. I'm back with a short little update covering a few oldies as well as some newbies. Observe:

IMGP0654
A while back, we spent an evening watching "Fearless" (the Jet Li movie that hasn't yet been released in the states) at Joel's house. I enjoyed part of the feature presentation from the comfort of the Arakaki family hammock (with strong trade winds blowing to keep me cool). Why I signed the letter "S" escapes me at the moment...

Phil & Josh (& my bro's arm on the far right) were there to participate in the festivities as well.

Noelle was there too but she was pretty tired and didn't really see much of the movie. My brother makes another appearance in the background...

This is from a different night (the evening at Nick's house) but it's a pic that's got Joel in it. Joel has just left HI and will soon be on his way to Japan where he'll be spending some time teaching English through the JET program. Best of luck Joel and be sure to take plenty of pics to share with us on your blog.

On to some new stuff...today Josh & I circled the island in search of good eats & some sunshine. We caught lunch at Giovanni's Famous Shrimp truck out near the Kahuku Sugar Mill. Damn was the shrimp scampi good (and super garlic-ky). I would highly encourage all you guys to grab a plate the next time you're in the area!

Continuing on 'round the island, we stopped momentarily to get a view of Laie Point. There wasn't much in the way of cloud cover today so the sky was a lovely shade o'blue.

We ended up cruising at Kualoa Beach for a bit. Sadly, this was the first trip to the beach for either one of us (during this summer that is). It's even more sad for Josh cuz he heads back to LA tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have a few more opportunities to get to the beach... Anyways, the above is a view of Chinaman's Hat from Kualoa Beach. It really was a beautiful day and the water was nice and warm. Lucky we live Hawaii...

So, hopefully the pretty, pretty pics (including one of my trademark food pictures) will satisfy some of you guys who have been wanting a post that was a bit more substantial. I don't have a whole lot of time left on the rock but I'm planning on doing my best with the few more weeks I've got (work permitting of course). On that note, safe travels to Joel & Josh and I'd like to wish the rest of you guys a good evening and a pleasant day. And, if you haven't dropped by to visit me at the store yet, what's keeping you!?!?! Cya.

L&P...

My iWeb Demonstration Site (Click here)

So, those cool kids over at Apple decided to give me a .Mac account* as one of my benefits. I figured I might as well use the thing, in conjunction with the iWeb program that came with my new MacBook (White if you must know), to make a cool little page that showcases what it can do. The following site literally took less than a minute to make and publish. Ahh, gotta love the simplicity of Apple. I particularly enjoy the video that I posted over there and I encourage you all to check it out (it relates to the title of this post). For those of you not in the know, L&P is a soda made in NZ. It also happens to be the best soda in the world. I guess things are just so quiet over here that I'm resorting to relatively boring posts such as this one. Please bear with me as work has been keeping me pretty busy, so I haven't had the time to put up posts with content as captivating as my (mis)adventures in NZ (feel free to relive those adventures by visiting the 2005 Archives-over there on the left). On that note, take care everyone and go visit that iWeb site of mine!!!

*If you are curious as to what .Mac and iWeb are, please come visit me at the Apple Store Ala Moana and I'd be happy to explain! Cheers!

Random Summer Stuff

Just a few more pics from this lazy summer...

And finally, a pic of the crazy swarm of people headed to their cars from Magic Island after the conclusion of the 4th of July fireworks show. I was lucky enough to have comfortably enjoyed the show 30 odd floors up and away from the madness!

I really wish I had a new camera but I've recently been distracted by the arrival of my new MacBook! This is, by the way, the first entry posted from my new MacBook! Enjoy!
