Meera came up to visit (well, for work actually) and Travis & I caught dinner with her at the Faultline Brewery last week. It's been far too long since we all hung out so it was good to see her again. C'mon up here more often! The Bay Area > Temecula!
My dish at Faultline Brewery: Rack of Lamb on pearl pasta. White sauce on top was some sort of yoghurt mixture and the darker sauce on the bottom was a pomegranate reduction. Quite delicious!
On Saturday, we (Diana, Nick & I) got hooked up by Christine with some tix to Great America (thanks!) where her company had a fun day. Here, Nick, Me & Christine pose with our post-lunch ice cream sandwiches.

They had a free caricature drawing area. Do you reckon that drawing looks anything like me?

On to the rides! Nick & Diana sit anxiously as we await the beginning of our journey on Grizzly, an all-wooden roller coaster. The line was super long and when we got to the front, we saw that some very large people weren't able to ride because they couldn't get the seat belt to fasten over their waist. Oh, America!
Diana, Nick & I waiting patiently in line for a ride on The Demon. The wait, which turned out to be shorter than the one for Grizzly, was worth it because this one had a pair of vertical loops (back to back) and a double corkscrew! Quite thrilling.
Our 3rd ride of the day was on Flight Deck. This was a fun inverted roller coaster (feet dangling freely below) with plenty of corkscrews and loops done at speed.
Our last ride was on Rip Roaring Rapids. With all the water flying around, we didn't take any pics of us during the ride but here we are afterwards. It might be hard to see but we're all soaked from head to toe. This is probably as wet as I've gotten on one of these kinds of rides at a theme park...and I was spared some of the watery carnage! Nick on the other hand got generously drenched in the beginning and our float got stuck at this one part where we were pummeled by a water geyser 4-5 times!
A trip to Castro Street in Mt. View meant dinner @ Maru Ichi. I don't even look at the menu any more, I know I'm gonna get the Kuro Ramen (pictured) every time. The warm soup was perfect after getting chilled a bit by the Rapids!
And finally, raspberries on yoghurt for dessert.
All in all, it was a bloody fun weekend. Glad I was able to spend some quality time with some dear friends and I look forward to some more fun in the near future. I'll keep you all posted on the job front as it develops. Take care everyone!
